And it begins. This is the Confessions of a Coach Bob. I'm Coach Bob, in case you hadn't figured that out already. I'm a first year middle school football coach in Texas and over the next year I'm going to be blogging about my experiences. I figured that successful blogs have been created about shop-o-holics, cooking through a Julia Child's cookbook, and a number of other similarly uninteresting topics; so the experiences of a first year football coach might be a Dan Brown best selling page turner in comparison. Oh and if this blog gets made into a movie like the ones I already mentioned, I want Gerrard Butler to play me. Just throwin' that out there now Hollywood, I mean, we're basically twins.

So, what should you expect from Confessions of a Coach Bob? Well, if I knew the answer to that, there wouldn't be much point in creating this blog. The point is I don't know what's going to happen over this next year and I'm kind of excited by that. I can promise a beginning, middle, and an end to this blog but that's about it. My hope is to include a behind the scene look at football in the State of Texas as well as humorous moments from my players and fellow coaches. Its pretty well documented that football is more of a religion than a game in the Great State of Texas and if that is true then as a middle school coach, you might say I'm kind of like a small parish deacon. So bless you all my children for this first entry begins our journey into proverbial heart of darkness.

What's on deck for the next entry? Well, probably a little background on Coach Bob so you can see where I'm coming from and what made me quit my job as a wine salesman to coach football.

Until next time, remember: "Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." - Joe Theismann
